All sessions take place in my home studio based in Coulsdon. This is a purpose built space in the garden, with everything needed to keep baby and you comforable. I hope to welcome you in like an old friend, where you can take up a space on studio arm chairs, drink tea, snack on biscuits or take a nap if you really wish. All whilst knowing your new baby is in safe hands having their picture taken right before your eyes.
I will provide everything that you need for a Newborn, Sitter and Cake Smash session. From hats and headbands, to wraps and props. Tea, Coffee and nibbles will also be available, as well as a changing area.
All you need to bring is yourselves, your baby and anything that you may usually need for them such as milk or a dummy.
Additionally, if you have any specific sentimental item, such as a teddy, then please do bring it along and I will do my best to include it!
After an initial online or over the phone consultation, we will discuss and decide on what you would like to get out of your session, whether that be colour schemes, poses or props.
Then we wait... oh it's a long one, but the reward is the best!
Once your little one has arrived, contact me as soon as you can and we will book your session.
After you arrive for your session I will go over the plan for the session and then begin. At this point you can catch up on the news, netflix or some probably needed and well deserved sleep.
I will stop regularly to allow for feeding, changing and settling, taking cues from your baby.
After the session, I will edit your images and share them with you via an online password protected gallery. You can then select your favourites at your own leisure, and purchase additional images if you require.
A spotter is a safety precaution which will ensure that the baby is in the safest possible position. This may be necessary for some composite poses (where multiple pictures are taken and then edited together to create a final image). I may ask you to stay close by, or have my own colleague available to help, depending on your requirements.
I would be more surprised if baby didn't have an accident! During the session, if they are happy to, baby will be posed naked. It is inevitable that accidents occur, please do not feel embarassed. It will be partly why I will not be wearing my Sunday best as I m usually their favourite target, and more than once during a session too!
If baby is breastfed I would advise Mums to avoid spicy food for 24 hours before the session as these may irritate baby's stomach. Also, try to keep baby awake for as long as possible before the session and ready for a big feed on arrival. Please dress baby in something loose and easy to remove (such as a baby grow the size up with poppers) and keep their nappy as loose as possible to avoid marks on their skin. Do not feel you need to introduce a dummy for the session. If they take comfort in one then please bring it along.
This is only natural and doesn't tend to last the entire session. If baby cries and no amount of soothing, changing, feeding and winding changes this we can simply reschedule your session as it may be that they are coming down with something. More often, with some time, patience and perseverance all babies will settle and we will be able to create beautiful images - awake or asleep.
This whole process is not one to be rushed just because everything else is changing in the blink of an eye. You don't need to select a package when you book your session. Once you've viewed your online gallery you will have time, from the comfort of your own home, to choose your images and the relevant package at that time. Payment will be required in full upon ordering your images and you can pay via cash, PayPal or BACS.
Galleries are available for 7 days. Once a gallery is removed there will be a £50 admin fee to upload the gallery back to the Client Space. This is because I do not have the capacity to keep multiple galleries online.
All props and accesories used in a session are then cleaned and sterilized before they are used in another session. Similarly, every surface and item which is used during the session will be wiped down with antibacterial disinfectant so you can be assured your little one is in a clean and safe environment.
Depending on the package that you have selected, your images will be printed and delivered to you. If you have selected the digital package, then all images will be made available to you on USB.
It is then completely up to you where you choose to get your images printed and in what size!
A package including digitals gives you access to digital copies of your purchased images from your collection. These are then yours to print as many times as you like, from where you like, on what you like and as big or little as you like. The options are endless!
Without the digital rights you will receive physical prints which you will be able to display and cherish, though these may not be copied.
I love to share a sneak peek of an image from your session, where possible. I may also use any images from your final gallery on my social media pages as well as my website as a promotional tool. Although, most parents love to see their baby being featured in this way, if you would prefer your baby's images not to be used please just let me know before your session.
I aim to have your gallery back to you within 10 working days, though during busy periods this can sometimes be slightly longer. Feel free to contact me though and I will be able to let you know roughly when they will be ready!
You will not be able to have the RAW or original images from the session. These are a form of Art and through editing to extend backdrops, remove blemishes, adjust lighting and colour balances the original images will not be a true representation of the beautiful image you receive.
Yes! I love one or two photos to be taken behind the scenes during a session. Please just make sure that they are not zoomed in solely of your child as this will ruin the magic when you receive your professional images. We call these BTS - behind the scenes!
